it begins again

Night two. Hudson, Ohio

Back at the palombos place in Hudson. Yallz remember those oatmeal cookies I wuz raven about. Who reads this business…besides you, madre? Last trip the palombos set the bar for hosts. I’m back playing in Kent, OH tomorrow night near Hudson. The Ohio Music Shop will be a fun show.
Back it up..
Wednesday my buddy nick & I took off for Cincinnati. I was starting things off in my old, though brief, home in Ohio. I had never been to MOTR pub but over the Rhine district in town really surprise me. It’s wild once leaving a place, realizing how much you missed out on while living there. I was in a daydream back then. A flashy wrist watch with legs for arms.<~~ just freestyled that one. No big deal. Anyway, Cincinnati was great though the crowd wasn't exactly bursting at the seams. I was playing 2 sets which can be quite a long experience if it's flopping. The first set did just that. Playing to a single pair of clapping hands can really bust your balls. I wasn't very enthused. I knew this trip would be a challenge with certain shows. During set break I convinced myself to have a good time for the next one. I really wanted to play these songs. It ended up being a favorite show. I felt stronger than ever. Even new tunes felt like I had them hanging around for months prior. The sound was top notch & helped out very much. Matt was great & I truly hope to work with him again. MOTR as well. The crowd was what I expected but I will find more people to come. I'm sure of it, suckers. No ma...you're not a sucker. Night 3 & 4 Cleveland We searched for some camping after leaving cinci but nothing was fitting my demands. Campsite, on water, that we can swim in. Easy peezy. Couldn't find squat so headed up to the palombos early. Went to a couple nifty bars with very good looking girls & sleaze ball fellas. I drank 2 beers. My first drink in a few months. Tasted fine. Would have preferred Jameson. A good nights sleep was perfect though. Today I woke to finding out the show never got finalized on their end. Booking something for the way back from the east instead. It's a bummer because of how much I want to play. Heading into Cleveland to hang out with Sam some more tonight. It's been a relaxed day. Very nice here. Found a great disc golf course where I met a turtle & a deer & a guy I stomped on foosball the last night. Small world. Tomorrow we're heading to Philly to hang with a favorite. Sunday I'm playing at goodbye blue Monday in Brooklyn. Come on by. For now...I will relax more in something new. Self control is attractive. Deadwin 20120615-203052.jpg

Farewell with Fourths

Laying low for the rest of the night at Joshua & Brads house. A great place that’s equipped with a massive space ship that takes up the better part of an entire room. Sarah, this may be framework for a time travel vessel. Last night was great. Baltimore was much more than I expected. Kate was very kind with letting us stay with her. Amanda was amazing for hosting the show. The Baltimore morning was one of the better AMs I’ve had in a very long time. The homes we were in very comfortable part of town. Nothing too wild. … Continue reading

Heyro PA

Der two Started things off a bit late today. The palombos who very kind for having me. Never got the chance to meet Sams ma’s & pops but their hospitality seemed endless. Hope to be back around there again soon. Side note: writing this at a gas station parking lot in Phoenixville, PA. Two police cars come up to my car with lights on. Guess this Altima looks suspicious. My ID check turned out fine though. Coppa’s let me go. I’m just glad they didn’t pull up when I was peeing on the side of the gas station 5 minutes … Continue reading

day one with no sun

This has been a long day but a fantastic one nonetheless. Snuggling in the guest bed at Sammi P’s parents just outside Cleveland. They’ve been super & I’ve yet to even meet them. Oatmeal cookies & towels laid out for the morning. Disneys Robin Hood is soothing & setting me up for sleep. This has been a great start. I was rained out from playing outside the restaurant Sam set up in chagrin falls. Explored the town a bit though. Best wrap I’ve ever had. Forget the name already. Trying to stop back in tomorrow before leaving for PA. While … Continue reading

Stuff…lots o’ stuff

An update. The past couple months have been hefty. I’m not sure where I’ve been for it. I’ve realized a wee bit about change though. Mostly being how necessary it is & how shit it can be with its timing. We don’t get along well. Being in the wrong state of mind has created all the wrong change. Blaming others & convincing myself that they are at fault has been my biggest defense mechanism. I never have wanted to admit that I’m in the wrong. I’ve pushed too many close people away due to my silly & problematic ways. I’ve … Continue reading

Some big plans are in the works, but there will be more news on that soon. We are also working on getting some more videos on the site. In the meantime, enjoy these ones! Just a couple of live recordings of “Willow” and “Pocket Poetry” from this past summer, directed by our super duper friend, Cara Brown.

How bouts an update?

It was about a year ago that I first went to Nashville to start this record. I appreciate everyones patience with this throughout the year. There have been a few speed bumps & broken hearts along the way but it’s still a work in progress. The support I’ve had with raising the funds and the random shows throughout the past few months have been a much needed motivator. Know that I haven’t ran off and paid off school loans with the album preorders. The funds are in a secure place far away from my pocketbook but I am more then ready to get this show on the road. Thanks again for your patience.

Birth co. has some updates of it’s own. During the summer I played a small Ecofest show in South Bend with a terrible turn out. An awkward little teenager came up after the show and introduced herself as Bailey Williams. She said she was playing a bit later. Seeing as I was half the audience I decided to stick around and hear what she had to offer. Turns out she’s been one of my favorites ever since. I’ve recorded a few of her tunes and am anxious to get them out for everyone to hear. The grand plan is getting a split EP released with her and I popping out hit after hit. First things first, finishing my record. Recording her songs and adding instrumentation has been a super treat. She’s a 17 year old super star & will blow peoples minds. Here’s a cover of Daniel Johnston she did. Look out for more to come from her joining up with the Birth co. family. Welcome her with open arms.

True Love Will Find You In The End

I must mention last nights show at my new friend Gus Bennett’s place. I haven’t ever been this nervous for a house show before. Best apartment in South Bend with the best people in South Bend. Thanks for everyone who came out and made it a blast. Gus, you were a true host. Thanks for having us in your amazing swimming pool home. Bailey & Peter Hochstedler were both tops. I love being included in with such super song writers. Peter will be missed around here. Best of luck to him and Angela as they freeze to death for the next month in Minneapolis and head to a Organic farm in Arizona. Everyone needs to drop by Peter’s bandcamp and steal everything he has.

Show at the end of the month with Bailey and some others. More info here.

Thats good for meow.
I’ll get better at this.
